Based on Satyajit Ray’s Pather Panchali (Songs of Little Road) an adaptation of Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay’s “Amatir Bhenpu”, this photo project evolved in two series. The first part was made throughout 2018 till 2021 and the second from 2022 to 2023 where the latter half of the work culminated into a book “Daesin” and the MFA first year artist talk and presentation

Both of the series created a rhetoric through the tradition of “documentary-style” photography where the images are mute yet eloquent through. The photographs are rooted with trees as symbols of knowledge and memories. A memory of both death and living. A continuation of the eternal cycle. The images metaphors through evolution of life in different time. And their muteness emphasizes on the question whether silence, quietness and melancholia affect the basic integrity and passion for existence.

The use of black and white images emphasize on abstraction and how highlight and shadow reflect the emotional journey of life from one point to the other within a frame.
